Obstetrical Services

1

Comprehensive prenatal care

Comprehensive prenatal care refers to the complete and coordinated medical, emotional, educational, and social support provided to a pregnant woman from conception through delivery. Its goal is to promote the health of both the mother and the baby, prevent complications, and prepare for a healthy childbirth and postpartum period.

2

Low and High risk pregnancy

A low-risk pregnancy is one in which the mother and baby have minimal or no risk factors or complications, and the pregnancy is progressing normally.

A high-risk pregnancy is one in which there is a greater chance of health problems for the mother, baby, or both. This risk may arise due to pre-existing conditions, pregnancy complications, or lifestyle factors.

3

Multiple pregnancy

Multiple pregnancy is a pregnancy where a woman is carrying more than one fetus at the same time. This includes:

  • Twins (2 babies)

  • Triplets (3 babies)

  • Quadruplets (4 babies), and so on.

4

Fetal Health Evaluation

Fetal health evaluation refers to a set of tests and assessments performed during pregnancy to monitor the well-being, growth, and development of the fetus, and to detect any potential problems early.

5

Complications of early pregnancy

Early pregnancy complications are problems that occur during the first trimester (up to 12 weeks) and can affect the health of the mother, the developing embryo, or both. Some may resolve on their own, while others require medical intervention.

6

Incompetent Cervix & Cerclage

An incompetent cervix is a condition during pregnancy where the cervix weakens and begins to open (dilate) too early, often in the second trimester, without pain or contractions. This premature opening can lead to miscarriage or preterm birth.

Cerclage is a surgical procedure used to treat an incompetent cervix. It involves placing a stitch around the cervix to keep it closed and support the pregnancy until the baby is ready to be delivered.

7

Natural Vaginal Birth

Natural vaginal birth refers to the process of delivering a baby through the birth canal without the use of major medical interventions, such as epidural anesthesia, induction drugs, or surgical procedures like cesarean section.

8

Operative Birth

Operative birth refers to a vaginal delivery assisted by medical instruments or a surgical procedure to help deliver the baby when complications arise during labor.

9

Medical complications of pregnancy

Medical complications of pregnancy are health conditions—either pre-existing or that develop during pregnancy—that can affect the health of the mother, fetus, or both, and may increase the risk of adverse outcomes if not properly managed.

Gynecologic Services

1

Abnormal uterine bleeding

Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) refers to any deviation from the normal menstrual cycle in terms of frequency, regularity, duration, or volume of bleeding. It is a symptom, not a diagnosis, and can occur at any age during a woman’s reproductive life.

2

Menopause

Menopause is defined as the permanent cessation of menstrual periods resulting from the loss of ovarian follicular activity. It is diagnosed retrospectively after a woman has experienced 12 consecutive months without menstruation, without any other pathological or physiological cause.

3

Ovarian cysts and masses

Ovarian cysts and masses are growths or fluid-filled sacs that develop on or within the ovaries. They are common in women of all ages and can range from benign and asymptomatic to pathological and potentially malignant.

4

Contraception

Contraception refers to the methods or devices used to prevent pregnancy by interfering with the normal process of ovulation, fertilization, or implantation.

5

Fertility

Fertility is the natural ability to conceive a child. It refers to the capacity of a person, couple, or population to produce offspring.

6

Disorders of the vulva

Disorders of the vulva refer to a variety of inflammatory, infectious, neoplastic, or dermatologic conditions that affect the external female genitalia, which includes the labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, vestibule, and the opening of the vagina.

7

Uterine anomalies

Uterine anomalies, also called Müllerian anomalies or congenital uterine malformations, are structural abnormalities of the uterus that occur during fetal development due to improper formation, fusion, or resorption of the Müllerian (paramesonephric) ducts.

8

Endometriosis Treatment

Endometriosis treatment refers to the various medical, surgical, and supportive strategies used to manage endometriosis—a chronic condition where tissue similar to the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) grows outside the uterus, causing pain, inflammation, and sometimes infertility.

9

Minimally invasive surgery

Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) refers to surgical techniques that involve smaller incisions, reduced trauma, and faster recovery times compared to traditional open surgery. The goal of MIS is to perform the procedure with the least disruption to the body’s tissues while achieving the same therapeutic outcomes.
